WHO WE ARE

Mack Theatre Group, deeply anchored in Milwaukee County, champions diversity, equity, and inclusion by interweaving theater with youth empowerment. Led by Dwayne Mack's transformative journey from adversity to inspiration, we actively encourage the ethos of "acting instead of acting out." Through our Rehabilitative Theater initiative, we uplift a diverse range of youth affected by Wisconsin's criminal legal system, equipping them with life skills and a sense of belonging. Mack Theatre Group isn't just an organization; it's a movement dedicated to reshaping lives, one performance at a time.

WHAT WE DO

Meaningful Work

Creative Arts as Transformational Tools

Mack Theatre Group recognizes the power of theater and arts as transformational instruments. By engaging the youth in this realm, we not only foster their creativity but provide them avenues for self-expression and healing. Our team, a diverse set of professionals ranging from actors to art therapists, ensures every young individual's experience is enriched and impactful. In our endeavor, we emphasize serving minority communities, especially the African American youth, mitigating the racially disparate impacts of the justice system and cultivating a brighter, more inclusive future.

Community Engagement & Prevention

At our heart is a steadfast dedication to Milwaukee's community. Through key partnerships, such as with the Easy Method Driving School, we drive real change—helping youth get driver's licenses and curbing recidivism. Our ties with Wisconsin Community Services and the Bakari Center equip us to offer mentorship and crisis support, directly aiding those affected by or at risk of entering the legal system, guiding them towards better alternatives

Rehabilitative Theatre & Skills Development

Mack Theatre Group's cornerstone is the Rehabilitative Theater initiative. Teaming with media professionals, we aim to uplift youth touched by Wisconsin’s legal system. Beyond art, we offer podcasts, comprehensive life skills training, and regular public service announcements. Led by Dwayne Mack, whose background resonates with our youth, this program pairs artistic expression with mentorship, transforming challenges into assets.
